We have provided custom harvesting services for grain producers since 1971.
We harvest small grains, soybeans, corn and sunflowers.
We use John Deere combines & tractors, Brent grain carts, Peterbilt trucks & hopper trailers.
Braathen Harvesting was started in 1971 by my Dad, Gordon. He and his cousin Gene each had a 105 John Deere combine. From there we went up through all the series of John Deere combines, always running 3 or 4 of them. After my Dad's retirement in 2001 I continued to operate 2 combines and found it to be a great fit in most farm operations.
We travel 1100 miles south to our first stop in north Texas along the Red River. This is where our winter wheat harvest begins. The central Kansas/Oklahoma border is our next stop. Northwest Kansas and northeast Colorado is next. From there we jump to the center of South Dakota and on up to northwest North Dakota where we finish up the small grain harvest. Mid September thru November has us back in South Dakota harvesting soybeans, sunflowers and corn.
I currently run 2 John Deere S-770's with 35' MacDon headers for small grains and soybeans. 615 John Deere Pickup heads for windrowed crops. 12 row 30" Fantini sunflower heads & 612 30" John Deere corn heads. We also have a John Deere 8370R and 1082 Brent graincart, along with 3 Peterbilt trucks & Neville hopper trailers.
